We analysed over 267,000 reviews from Glassdoor’s Top 50 UK employers to discover what matters the most
to their employees.
Progression was the most common theme mentioned across all of
Glassdoor’s Top 50 employee reviews, with almost 5,000 mentions.
Colleagues and employee benefits were commonly mentioned. A
focus on company culture featured more frequently in reviews than mentions of salary.
We looked at the average rating for a Glassdoor Top 50 employer to discover what score you need to get
to the top.
Only three UK companies managed to achieve the highest score of
4.6 out of 5. The most common rating for a Glassdoor Top 50 employer was 4.3.
We broke the top 50 down to see which industries are leading the way in the top places to work in the
UK.
There were a total of 28 separate industries featured in
Glassdoor’s Top 50 employers.
Topping the charts for best-rated industries were Computer
Hardware Development and Enterprise Software and Network Solutions, with five Top 50 companies
each. Not far behind was Information Technology Support Services, with four companies
featuring in the Top 50 employers list.
We identified each office for all of Glassdoor’s Top 50 employers to discover which city or town was the
most popular location.
The top 50 companies had a total of 150 offices across the UK.
