Environmental Policy

We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and continually improving our environmental performance as an integral part of our business strategy and operating methods, with regular review points. 

We will:

  • Comply with and aim to exceed all relevant regulatory requirements
  • Continually improve and monitor environmental performance and environmental impact
  • Incorporate environmental factors into business decisions and choosing suppliers
  • Provide team member training and increase environmental awareness across the business
  • Review and update this policy annually at the minimum

We commit to the following: 

  • Recycling 
  • Minimise the use of or recycle and reuse of paper in the office
  • Reduce packaging as much as possible
  • Seek to buy recycled and recyclable paper products
  • Reuse and recycle everything we are able to, such as plastic, cardboard, paper and printer cartridges 
  • Office
  • Lights and electrical equipment will be switched off when not in use, and heating adjusted accordingly 
  • Energy consumption, efficiency and environmental impact of new products will be taken into account when purchasing, favouring those that are more environmentally friendly 
  • See if renting/sharing is an option before purchasing equipment
  • Cleaning materials used will be as environmentally friendly as possible
  • We will only use licensed and appropriate organisations to dispose of waste
  • Travel
  • Reduce travel, restricting to necessity trips only or greener methods of transport
  • Promote the use of travel alternatives such as e-mail or video/phone conferencing
  • Encourage the cycling, walking or public transport where possible

AI and Digital Infrastructure:

  • Assess the environmental impact of data centres that host AI systems, including energy consumption and cooling requirements.
  • Include goals to utilize energy-efficient AI technologies and data storage solutions
  • Evaluate the environmental implications of automating processes with AI, focusing on reducing resource consumption and improving efficiency.
  • Promote the development and use of AI algorithms that are optimized for energy efficiency
  • Extend environmental criteria to include the sustainability practices of AI technology providers.
  • Ensure that vendors supplying AI solutions adhere to environmental standards in line with your company’s goals
  • Provide training on the environmental aspects of using AI technologies to all team members.
  • Increase awareness of how AI can be leveraged to enhance environmental performance across the business
  • Incorporate policies for the responsible disposal and recycling of electronic waste generated by AI systems
  • Consider the lifecycle impacts of electronic devices and systems used in AI applications

Artificial Intelligence and Technology Use

AI for Environmental Benefits: Explore opportunities to use AI to optimize resource use and reduce waste within our operations. This includes smart automation of heating, ventilation, and lighting systems, and AI-driven analytics to improve environmental performance metrics

Energy Efficiency in AI Systems: We commit to assessing and minimizing the energy consumption of AI systems used in our operations, aiming for the highest efficiency in data processing and storage.

Sustainable AI Practices: When selecting AI solutions, priority will be given to those with demonstrable commitments to environmental sustainability, including lower energy requirements and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.

Electronic Waste Management: We will ensure that all electronic waste, including hardware used for AI systems, is disposed of responsibly. We will promote recycling and proper disposal practices to mitigate the environmental impact of used electronics.
